That "ah ha" moment of needing a Traditional outfit....

I went to a traditional wedding this past weekend and I must say
African attires ROCK!!!

The colours The prints The patterns The textures The beads and not forgetting
The callamine.

oh - what beauty.

I struggled so much getting a design, its either it's been done before or it's probably going to look snux on me. These days our wardrobes aren't lined up with traditional outfit options like our mothers have. When invited to a traditional ceremony of sort we need to think long and hard of what we will be wearing - and finding a design is the worst part of the process.

anyway - i got lucky and found a Bongiwe Walaza old design and kinda remixed it a little with my own additions. Had big buttons going down at the back and  of'cos, picked my own material.
Not too shabby a job I did there mixing up material.
I actually enjoyed material shopping.
i think i will do more of that and have 'my designer' make me couple more customd made items.

Next is a print Jacket with "ipuffs" --hehehehe

So my two-cents worth for today is
My Fashionistas go out and buy your material and find someone to make you dress
Make sure its your own design
it might be a look-a-like but try and make yours unique by adding on something extra or eliminatng part of a detail from the original design.

We all love looking FAB dont we!!!
